Research has shown that vitamin C supplements can help to boost the immune system whilst reducing the risk and decreasing recovery time if suffering from a cold or flu virus
Garlic
As a member of the onion family, garlic is believed to stimulate the production of the fighting white blood cells within the body and as such can help to guard against infection and disease.
Echinacea
There are several actives in Echinacea preparations that are thought to work together to increase the production and activity of white blood cells, a key part of the body's response to viral infections such as colds and flu.
Carrot
Carrots are nutritional heroes. No other vegetable or fruit contains as much carotene as carrots, which the body converts to Vitamin A. This versatile vegetable is an excellent source of vitamins B and C as well as calcium pectate, an extraordinary pectin fibre that has been found to have cholesterol-lowering properties. Raw carrots are an excellent source of Vitamin A and potassium, they contain vitamin C, vitamin B6, thiamine, folic acid and magnesium. Cooked carrots are also an excellent source of Vitamin A, potassium and they contain vitamin B6, cooper, folic acid and magnesium. Remember, most of the goodness is actually in, or just below the skin so peeling takes away some nutritional value. A good clean to get rid of any dirt is much better than peeling.

Do you know how important is sleep?
You should knows about how important sleep
is to our physical and mental. Yet how many of as really get
the quality and quantity of sleep we need each night ? I am
not a great fan of sleeping tablets and other drugs and
generally regard them as a last resort for exceptional
circumstances. But there are many simple and natural ways to
help yourself get the slumber you need. First, establish a
regular sleep routine. This sets your body clock and
regulates sleep patterns. If you take ages to drop off to
sleep, do not be tempted to lie in the following morning to
catch up. However tired you feel get up at the usual time so
that you are more likely to be tired that evening so you
will sleep well. Try not to nap during the day, either. It
seriously interferes with stabilising biorhythms
and disrupts the quality of nighttime sleep. Make sure the
room is dark, quiet and cool enough. Block out any
environmental noise with ear plugs or relaxing music trough
headphones. Invest in a decent mattress and avoid alcohol,
eating late and stimulants such as caffeine and nicotine.
Alcohol in particular interferes with the normal brain wave
activity seen during natural sleep. This is one of the
reasons why so many people feel exhausted when they are hung
over the morning after the night before. That told
myth that an alcoholic nightcap actually helps you sleep is
wrong. It might help you get to sleep but there is always a
rebound effect in the early hours guaranteed to wake you up
too early. Instead, have a warm milky drink as a nightcap
and write down any worries in your head on a piece of paper
to offload the stress, ready to deal with them the next day.
Lastly, why not turn to your partner for a little love. It
can be one of the best sedatives of all.
Skipped breakfast this morning ? Don't be fooled into thing that will help shift the pound. Breakfast really is the most important meal of the day. Eating a nutritious bowl of cereal with milk is linked to eating less fat trough out the day. Plus, brekkie munchers are more likely to be a healthy weight. On the other hand, the study found that those who skip their morning meal altogether are more likely to succumb to fatty snacks later in the day. While the exact reasons behind the benefits of cereal aren't completely clear,. Cereals that are high in fibre and with a low GI can help you feel fuller for longer, so you don't want to snack as much. But, remember calorie and portion control to maximise your weight loss ! Good health life !
